January 2024 Meeting Minutes

We were missing a couple of our regulars tonight but still ended up with a nice meeting as our first of 2024. We had 19 beers to sample, 10 of which were homebrews. We also had a new member, Scott, join the club and look forward to trying more of his beers in the future!

Some topics we covered at the meeting included:

Next Meeting – NOTE THE DATE CHANGE: There were some party room conflicts at SFBC so we had to shuffle around a bit, so our next meeting will be on Tuesday February 13th at 6:30pm.

Next Club Competition – Our next mini club competition will be during the February 2024 meeting on February 13th. The style will be lower ABV British beers – BJCP 2021 categories Ordinary Bitter (11A), Best Bitter (11B), or Dark Mild (13A)

Whisky tasting – The whisky tasting will officially take place on Wednesday March 6th. More details will come as it gets closer, but keep the night free on your calendar

WinterBrew 2024 – WinterBrew is happening again! This year it’ll be on Friday, January 26th from 6-9pm at the Railyard. More information and tickets can be found here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/winterbrew-2024-at-santa-fe-farmers-market-tickets-746221989057?aff=oddtdtcreator

Next Social Meetup – Winterbrew is currently our January social night. If you haven’t bought tickets yet, I’d suggest doing that as they may be running out soon!

Saison / Belgian Competition – We plan on doing a Saison competition for our May or June meeting and see if we can get some pro brewers who specialize in Farmhouse or Saisons to act as expert judges.
